Aaron Rakow, PhD - Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Aaron Rakow is a founding partner of and supervising psychologist for InSite Solutions. Much of Dr. Rakow’s professional background focuses on improving access to empirically supported mental health treatments via training and dissemination efforts within school systems and primary care offices.  Dr. Rakow has previously been involved in the successful launch of a statewide mental health training and dissemination effort with the Departments of Health and Mental Health in the State of Vermont. In addition to his role at InSite Solutions, Dr. Rakow is also a faculty member within the Department of Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Collectively, Dr. Rakow has fifteen years of experience working within the behavioral health field including at the National Institutes of Mental Health, Children's National Health System, The Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Vermont. Dr. Rakow is a Child Psychologist in Washington, DC.


Megan McCormick-King, PhD - Clinical Psychologist

Dr. McCormick-King is a founding partner of InSite Solutions and supervising psychologist. Her interests include large-scale program development and implementation aimed at improving public health outcomes for youth. She has worked extensively within community-based organizations on improving public health causes and advocating for youth mental health issues within the Washington DC metro area. Her research background has focused on psychological factors that impact health outcomes, such as pain management and medication adherence, as well as the design, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral interventions to improve access to mental healthcare in primary healthcare settings and prevent negative medical outcomes in pediatric chronic illness populations. In addition to her role at InSite Solutions, Dr. McCormick-King is also a faculty member within the Department of Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. McCormick-King is a Child Psychologist in Washington, DC.


Karyn Hartz-Mandell, PhD - Child Psychiatrist

Dr. Hartz-Mandell is a clinical psychologist with a strong background in mental health consultation in school settings as well as mental health assessment and treatment for children. Her areas of professional focus include early childhood development and mental health, classroom management, parenting support, and implementation of evidence-based practices. Dr. Hartz-Mandell's research interests include teacher-child relationships, classroom interactions, and the implementation of prevention and intervention programs to support children's social, emotional and behavioral health. Dr. Hartz-Mandell completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Virginia Curry School of Education. 


Emily Aron, MD - Child Psychiatrist

Dr. Emily Aron is a licensed Child Psychiatrist for InSite Solutions. Dr. Aron completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at New York University's Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital Center at The New York University School of Medicine. Throughout her career, Dr. Aron has emphasized her passion for supporting the needs of traditionally underserved populations and has a strong interest in evidence-based interventions and integrated mental health within school systems. In addition to her role at InSite Solutions, Dr. Aron is also a faculty member within the Department of Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Aron is a board certified Child Psychiatrist in Washington, DC.


Cathy South, MD - Child Psychiatrist

Dr. Cathy Southammakosane ("Dr. South") is board-certified and licensed in both Child Psychiatry and Pediatrics. She attended The George Washington University for both undergraduate and medical studies and completed her combined Psychiatry/Child Psychiatry and Pediatric residency training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. South's experience included medical directorship of a Pediatric Anxiety Program, psychiatry consultation in both pediatric and school settings and general pediatric outpatient practice. 


Katie Pietris, MS, SYC - School Psychologist

Ms. Pietris is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and a certified school psychologist in the States of Maryland, Connecticut and South Carolina. Ms. Pietris completed her Masters of Science in School Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. Ms. Pietris is research reliable in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS) and is highly trained in the administration and interpretation of an extensive range of psychoeducational assessment tools. Ms. Pietris has prior experience working for the Medical University of South Carolina, Clinton Public Schools, Longview School for Children, West Suburban Special Recreation Association, and Southern Connecticut State University. 


Denisha Carter, PsyD - Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Carter is a Child Clinical Psychologist with extensive background in assessing and treating the impact of traumatic stress on children, adolescents, and families. Much of Dr. Carter’s research to date has focused on the impact of child sexual abuse of family relationships. Dr. Carter was previously the Director of Clinical Operations and also Director of Training for COMPASS Mental Health Consultants and also previously served as Program Coordinator of Odyssey Family Counseling Center. Dr. Carter brings to InSite Solutions extensive experience working with children, adolescents and families with a diverse array of complex clinical needs.


Karimah Ware, PsyD - Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Ware is a Child Clinical Psychologist with extensive background in school-based mental health settings. Her primary areas of expertise are in the assessment of childhood psychopathology as well as in the application of school-based interventions to support child mental health and wellness. Dr. Ware has particular expertise in the areas of effective classroom management and parenting training. Dr. Ware, who holds a Psy.D. from the American School of Professional Psychology, and has previously worked in settings ranging from schools to community mental health centers. Dr. Ware is also a faculty member within the Department of Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Ware is a Child Psychologist in Washington, DC and the State of Maryland.


Jenya Gaskin, PsyD - School Psychologist

Dr. Gaskin is a School Psychologist with an impressive background in the mental health assessment and treatment of school age youth. Her primary areas of expertise are classroom-based behavioral consultation and neuropsychological assessment. Dr. Gaskin, who holds a Psy.D. from the American School of Professional Psychology, and was previously a school psychologist for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC as well as an intern for the Prince William County Public Schools in Manassas, VA. Dr. Gaskin is a graduate of Rutgers University with a PsyD in School Psychology.  Dr. Gaskin is a board certified School Psychologist in Washington, DC and the North Carolina.


Erin Mathis, PhD - Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Mathis is a Clinical Psychologist with a strong background in school-based mental health care and consultation. Her primary areas of professional focus are in the development and dissemination of programs to support the emotional health and well being of youth in k-12 systems. Dr. Mathis has worked in this capacity at both Penn State University as well as at the Center for School Based Mental Health at the University of Maryland. Dr. Mathis, holds a PhD from Penn State University. In addition to her role at InSite, Dr. Mathis is also a post doctoral fellow at Georgetown University.
